i have no idea how much fake nails and french manicure cost, but i can give you a really cute idea to try! just paint your nails one colour (for example a light pink). then, you do a french manicure with a darker pink! it is SO cute! it's also very young and shows lots of personality. you can do this with any colour. i saw a picture of a blue one, and it looked awesome!Would a french manicure on short nails cost less than using fake nails? Any ideas for some designs?
It would probably cost more but fake nails would fall off more quickly so try doing it yourself cause it isnt that hard and for decorations do snowflakes or somethin to fit in with the holidays.

Can you get a french manicure without getting fake nails?
do have to get fake nails for a french manicure? Can you get a french manicure without getting fake nails?
I get my french manicure in my nails all the time. you can go to the nail place and they will do it for you or you can go to walmart or target and there is some kits with strips that help you do it by ur self its simple. either way make sure you wear the bottom and top coat to make it last longer and make sure it is any of the ones that make ur nails hard like the products from sally so the nail polish stays in longer! good luck! Can you get a french manicure without getting fake nails?
you Don't have to get fake nails to get a french manicure. But honstly the fake nails with the manicure looks way better, and it lasta longer. But it is more expensive.
Hope i helped=]
Its just done with polish you don't need fake nails
Nope. they can do it on your own nails, it just won't last as long.
Grow your nails out and you'll be fine.
Psh no.

Is it bad for your nails to get a manicure/pedicure?
Because I got one once and my nails were all rough and scratched when I pulled off the nails and when I broke one, but I want to get another one soon cuz they're so pretty! Is it bad for your nails to get a manicure/pedicure?
The reason why the nail beds are rough and scratched is because the Technician has to etch them with a file in order to apply the primer which on top of the etching will dry the natural oils on your nail beds so that the glue will adhere better.
Pulling or picking them off is the worst thing you can do to remove them. Soak them in Acetone and the chemical will break down the tips and the acrylic on top of the tips to the point that you can just slide them right off with a cuticle stick.
You can purchase all of these items at any department or beauty supplies store or go back to a nail salon and have them do it for you.
Your original question was ';Is it bad for your nails to get a manicure/pedicure';....absolutely NOT. These procedures are fairly priced and do wonders for your natural nails. The Technician will basically clean them up by pushing your cuticles back and clipping the dead skin. She/He will also file, buff, and paint your nails to make them look healthy and beautiful.
If you were one of my customers, you would even get a hand and arm massage afterwords. What a treat!
Until your nails heal, keep them healthy by letting some air get to them for a few days before you put polish back on them. Then get a simple water manicure.
Good luck and I hope this advice helps you get back to having healthy beautiful nails. Is it bad for your nails to get a manicure/pedicure?
I agree, the fake nails do look really pretty! However, the glue that they use to keep them on can cause some damage to the surface of your nails. When they break or if you get tired of them, soak your nails in acetone nail polish remover to get them off, instead of pulling them. It's fine to get them, but when they come off, give your nails a little break to get some air b4 putting them back on. :)
yes, it is bad, but it`s also really addicting. my friend, her natural nails were pretty but she kept putting fake nails on and now her real nails are really nasty. i`m not sure how she gets them off, but everytime i look at her real nails, they look .. damaged. they ARE pretty, but you shouldn`t put them on too much.buy cream lip makeup

Is dark coloured nail varnish now more trendy than french manicure?
A classic Pink and White over lay never goes out of style. It's like ';the little black dress'; it's eternal. Is dark coloured nail varnish now more trendy than french manicure?
yes defintaly! it's more yIs dark coloured nail varnish now more trendy than french manicure?
no
YES
Black nail polish is all the rage at the moment. It's not just for rebels anymore ;)
It is more trendy - but I personally like the french manicure the best!
My wife has french manicured nails and I would say you can get anything that looks any more elegant and classy than that. So I would say french manicure over coloured nail polish any day.
hello pickles.well i asked this question last week and nearly all the answers said black or dark red.hope this answers your question x
yesss. everyone's wearing black and dark red colored nail polishes. i used to wear black nail polish before it became really popular and ppl used to ask me if i was gothic. but now it's a trend. and plus the dark colors go great with any item of clothing, so you kill two birds with one stone!
yes, Chanel 'Rouge Noir' looks great on short-ish nails.
Gosh- Things must be going swimmingly for you if that's all you have to worry about. Good luck.
Right now black nail polish is really hot thanks to Lindsay Lohan and others. Chanel came out with the dark color for fall, and it sold out like crazy. It is trendier, but I would say a classier timeless look is always going to be a french manicure.
You also have to think about the time of year. During winter months, you are more inclined to wear darker colors anyway.
I hope that helped!
no
definately think its a matter of personality and skin tone, some people just don't suit it, black nail varnish should be on relatively short nails otherwise you get goth talons, certain colors of red can look cheap- chipped red nails ARE NOT CLASSY, i still prefer the french manicure because when its done well, it looks incredibly elegant, plus it so rarely goes wrong..better to go with what suits you than the running trend.
I think french looks cheap reds like burgundy look classy and are in fashion e.g Gwen Stafani 40/50's look,
personally i think a dark color looks better than a French manicure and do think that it is more trendy.
personally i like getting both done...french is really classy and goes with anything you wear...whether you want to look casual or stunning...it looks nice...and dark colours really look good when you wear something dark..so automatically your nails just POP...but i don't think there's a particular trend to be followed when dealing with nail polish..it all depends on how your nails look with a certain colour....
manicure is simple. go for somethng colourful
i still like the classic french
It sure is. Dark nails are all over the catwalk and celebrities are always spotted with them. Black is the hottest nail colour right now, but if you don't want to go that dramatic there are a lot of great varnishes in deep red, purple and blue.
Yeah!
I don't think the french manicure will ever go out but reds are back in and browns so give yourself a change
No french manicure is the ultimate nail varnish design and will never go out of fashion. The good thing about a french manicure is that it matches any outfit and is easy to do at home it also makes the shortest of nails look longer. However dark colours are great for the winter as they brighten up any outfit. Dark purples are in fashion at the moment but try avoiding leaving it on for more than 4 days as chipped nail varnish looks tacky to prevent this use a clear coat over the top it will usually last for a week if not longer. Finally dark nail varnish tends to stain the nails if worn over a long period of time to stop this from happening paint your nails with a clear nail varnish then apply the colour, then another clear coat over the top.
Hope this helps!

Girls, during a manicure, how do your nails get trimmed?
A few days ago I got a manicure which just seems odd to me. I get them once in a blue moon so I don't know that much about them, but.... The manicurist trimmed all my fingernails at a different length. I asked her why she did that, and she said that it's to make sure that all the nails will be the same length (measuring from the top of the pink part of the nail to the bottom of the white part). She said once the color nail polish will be applied, they will look more symmetrical that way. That just doesn't seem right to me - I thought that nails are supposed to be trimmed in such a way that the white part on each nail is the same length. So, what is the right way to trim the nail - to make the length from the top of the pink part to the bottom of the white part the same or to make just the length of the white part of the nail the same on each finger? Do different rules apply for a French manicure as opposed to other nailpolish colors?Girls, during a manicure, how do your nails get trimmed?
I don't get manicures that often, but the manicurist has always trimmed mine so that each nail has the same amount of white part. I've had mine but french tipped and regular polish. I guess it just depends on where the manicurist learned to do nails. . . . Seems a bit odd though!Girls, during a manicure, how do your nails get trimmed?
I like them even, but I just get a regular manicure not the painted white tips.

What is the best way to draw a perfect white strip and not get any extra white polish around my finger. My Nails Are Natural And I Usually Take White Nail Polish And Draw The White Tip, Like A French Manicure......?
you can buy French Tip Guides from beauty supply. Try 8ty8beauty supply or Sally Beauty. Google French Tip Guides and you'll get lots of hits for other sources and products. How long do my nails need to be to get a good manicure?
I used to bite my nails. I finally stopped about a year ago, and my nails took forever to get strong and long. Now that I have strong nails, I want to reward myself by getting a manicure (not fake nails, though). How long do my nails have to be for that? And what is a good price? What if my cuticles aren't the best? How long do my nails need to be to get a good manicure?
I don't think your nails have to be a certain length. Don't worry about your cuticles, the staff will have seen worse. If you feel self-conscious invest in a cuticle cream. As for price, it depends. Generally manicures are cheapest if you have it done without polish. I'd suggest you ask friends and relatives if they know of a good salon or look up the Yellow Pages and ring round a few if you've time. How long do my nails need to be to get a good manicure?
they shouldnt be damaged at the ends
That's the best part, they just need to be long enough to run a file over so the ends get smooth, they will trim your cuticles back for you, and as far as prices, in my area out here you can generally get a manicure / pedicure (not acrylics) for about fourty dollars.

Can I make clear tip gel nails look more like a French manicure?
I thought I was getting a French manicure with white tips, but my manicurist's English wasn't that great. I ended up with clear tips. He did a great job, but it looks very plain. I hear that white nail polish on them for a French manicure doesn't last long. What can I do to spiff it up?Can I make clear tip gel nails look more like a French manicure?
yes...u still can get the French manicure on any kind of tips ..and the French manicure polish is just as durable as the regular color nails polishes,it is white polish, tell them u want the paint on F/M (just dont get the airbrush)....next time if u prefer the French manicure...to make it easier for the non english speaker manicurist, just tell them u want the ';white'' tips...they'll understand u better.......!goodluck..
by the way u should come to my place..:)Can I make clear tip gel nails look more like a French manicure?
I think tou should go to a nail place and get your nails painted again but not the same place and the same color. It depends on what color your bottom color is(on what color you should get for the tip) You can also do a different shape for the tip. Try my idea. Thanks. Good luck!

Which nail paint should i use for white tip in french manicure!?!?
I have tried usin Sally Hansen Kit but the white nail paint in that does not give natural effect. Pls suggest which nail paint would give naural looking white tip.Which nail paint should i use for white tip in french manicure!?!?
maybe try some white out or liquid paper.Which nail paint should i use for white tip in french manicure!?!?
None of them give a natural look if you're buying over the counter! Get a french manicure at a salon and save yourself the hassle.
The white pencil works best for a home manicure easy to touch up also.
Lite nude polish or a blush look the best.
You can buy a french manicure kit.It gives you the nail polish and little strips of paper so you wont make a mess of your nail,Its hard to draw a perfect line across your nails.
Or you can just get a white color of nail polish. I even like the light pink they put over your nail when the french nail is done.
I use the pencil. White looks like eyeliner. I think then it looks more natural than the manicured junk. And It does stay on for a while. Take the pencil and apply under your nail. it's like a crayon. Good Luck
the one from Avon is very nice, i just can't think of it's name
try the color red or blue
LOL french manicures are not meant to look natural. If you want something natural try a natural looking nail tip.

How do u do agood french manicure on ure nails?
wen i always do it my left hand looks ok,but my right hand looks crap, cos im right handed obviously, and also the giudes dont stick right wen i use them please help, and wen i use the white nail varnish its to thick wen i put it on!How do u do agood french manicure on ure nails?
I don't like using guides - they always seem to smudge the polish as you pull them off. I just put the whites on freehand - load up quite a lot of polish on the brush so you can do it in one sweep without having to dip the brush again and try to get a smooth line. Sit at a table to do it so you can rest your hands and keep them steady. And do your right hand first so you are not worried about smudging when you do the other hand. I've tried all sorts of brands of polish and, believe it or not, the cheapest is the best! Collection 2000 goes on the smoothest! How do u do agood french manicure on ure nails?
I don't think the stickers or the guide work that well. My best advice for you is if you really love the look of your nails spend the money and get a gorgeous French Manicure. It will make you feel so good like a million dollars and just forget about all the money you spend on products that don't work.
While you are there ask the nail technician if she can recommend a product that you can use at home, or visit a local beauty school and ask if they have special rates on giving clients French Manicures if the cost of a weekly or bi-monthly manicure is too high for you.
I would just try to fit this into your budget and sacrifice something else you purchase instead. Hope that helps.
Sally makes a polish marker,it makes nice even lines, it takes practice, the first 2-3 times my right hand looked horrible but now I can do it in no time and it looks great
Yves Saint Laurent do a great French manicure set! Its like two little pens and u literally just draw on the white part and then polish over with the nice glossy pink colour
I think they cost around 拢30 but they last for ages and its so handy!
i have the same problem. i use the guides. if you don't have any polish on your nails when you put them on, they should stick. :]

Can I get a French manicure without having to get acrylic nails or fake nails? ?
I just want my nails painted with the neutral color and the white tips. They aren't super long, but they're not short either. Will nail stylists do that? If they do, how much does it cost? Sunday is my 18th and I want them to be super cute! Can I get a French manicure without having to get acrylic nails or fake nails? ?
Absolutely ! They will give you a manicure and then
use one of a variety of available pink and also white (or off-white) polish.
You should have a top coat at home to apply everyother day to help the polish last as long as possible and of course apply a quality nail oil every night.
Please choose a clean nail salon/ nail technician. If you need info on how to know for sure let me know.

Why do my nails look so horrible after having a manicure?
I got a manicure last week, but this week it seems like my nails are a millions times drier. I have hang nails galore and my cuticles look horrible. What happened??!?!?!Why do my nails look so horrible after having a manicure?
Its either your cuticles are growing back like that or the person who did it, just sucks.
is it your first time? Why do my nails look so horrible after having a manicure?
Its because oxygen isnt getting to your nails. Theres not much you can do about that if you're wearing false nails; just make sure you look after your nails well when the falsies come off.
Maybe the place your going to just sucks.. try a differant place. Also, green tea is said to help the growth of nails.

If you bite your nails can you get a French Manicure?
I've never gotten one before so I wouldn't know how it works. I've (so far) stopped biting my nails but I just want to know basically how it works. If you bite your nails can you get a French Manicure?
Yes you can get a manicure if you bite your nails. They don't out and actual nail on just a tip, put some jelly acrylic, dry, and file (the file hurts a bit and is sore for a day or two). Then paint and finish! If you bite your nails can you get a French Manicure?
Yeah, I bite my nails and I tried stopping to get my nails done. I got a French Manicure but it didn't look very good since my nails were still pretty short, fragile, and I would forget my nails are painted and start biting them. If you can really stop biting your nails then I say go for it.
Yeah, but it looks worse.
A tip, I got a do it yourself french manicure kit at walmart for 7 bucks and it's just as good. Everyone asks me if I got them done professionally. It was a sally hanson kit.
yea you could if you stopped biting your nails and waiting until you see some of the white part of your nail you could get a french manicure :)
Hope this helped

The Dollar Tree, Claire's, any drugstore or grocery store, and maybe evan Ulta or Sephora but if you can't find any there and you live in Chino Hills CA 91709 go to Elegant nails they are really good and they serve drinks the do everything from facials to massages to waxing to pedicures to manicures they evan show movies it so good and they are SO nice How do i get great nails without having to pay for a manicure?
i usually do four coats. the first one is a growth treatment clear polish i use, the second is the color i choose, then i wait about ten mins to get that totally dry, then i apply another coat, then finally a clear polish on top. ive had it stay on for a month! if you dont have the time to do that, then just cleaning under your nails always helps, and makes them look longer :) hope this helped!

How long do my nails have to be for a french manicure?
My nails are not past the tips of my fingers yet. Is that too short? How long do my nails have to be for a french manicure?
yeahhhHow long do my nails have to be for a french manicure?
Like 3 feet.
u should try 2 grow them a little but they can do it like that with a thinner line is all
Just past the ends of your fingers:)
They need to have some white showing.
no you can still get your nails done it doesnt matter how short they are
if the nail people can do tiny toes, they can do tiny finger nails!
it's a layer of paint on the top...so they can be any length!
well it depends on the shape of your nails but there has to be at least two millimeter of white tips
That's not too short. The white will just be painted over the flesh colored part of your nails. Afterwards your nails will look longer.
any nail past the pad of your fingertip is worth being painted and can be but below is just clear for now as it be not preeety
They can still do it but it wouldn't look as nice if you waited until they had grown out some.
you could get em done but theyll probably fall off before you get fills and would have wasted your money so you shold wait
I think that you should ask a nail technintoin at a nail salon. Then take their advice.
You can get them but they'll look better if your nails are a little longer. Or just get acrylics. Whenever I get a new set, they always clip my nails so they're super short anyways so you can definitely get them done and they'll look great. And I keep mine just past the tips of my fingers because of work %26amp; still get a french manicure %26amp; they look good.

Acrylic nail fillins show through my french manicure.?
I have been getting acrylic fill ins for about 3 mths now. I like getting my nails french manicured/airbrushed but notice now that you can see all the fill ins and repairs that have been done over time. This is very noticeable on the nail and makes the french manicure look bad.
I was wondering if fillins look this bad when using gel nails too? Ive been considering having the acrylic taken off and going with gel if it would look better and not leave fill in marks.
My own nails are very long (no need for tips etc). I basically got the acrylic done because my own nails kept splitting and breaking.Acrylic nail fillins show through my french manicure.?
Acrylic and gel are very similar, but in my experience a set of acrylic nails that are done professionally should not have any evidence of back fills. I have been doing acrylics for well over a year and when a set have been repaired they look like new.Acrylic nail fillins show through my french manicure.?
Acrylic is stronger than gel, but I like gel better because to me it looks better. If you go to gel, make sure it is really gel. If the person doing your nails, takes their brush %26amp; dips in liquid then powder, I don't care what they say, it's acrylic. Gel looks like gel, hence the name. Some nail techs will do acrylics with a gel overlay %26amp; charge you for gels.
Oh, make sure they are using the same product each time you get your nails done. Even though acrylic is acrylic, different products have different recipes to make their polymer for their acrylic product.

Manicure for a nail biter?
Hi all,
Since I can remember, I have always bitten my nails. Through sheer will power I have recently been able to stop the biting and begun to grow them (still a long way to go til they look nice).
Even though I'ves topped biting the nails, my habit of picking and the skin around the nails,a nd the cuticales is proving harder to stop. As such i still have a lot of broken skill and uneven edges around each nail.
I think i should get a manicure, f not fake nails to help me have nice nails.
Anyone know of anywhere in London which specialises in wokring on biten nails, or can give me some good advice on what is the best option.
Thanks in advance.
(PS: do not suggest Nails Inc. Heard too manybad reviews of them on the net, and from friends and colleagues.)Manicure for a nail biter?
Oh, I know EXACTLY how you feel...before I got braces I bit my nails all the time, and then it didn't work so I quit the habit but I have just the remedy for you!
You need some Sally Hansen maximum Growth polish. It's this clear nail polish that comes in a bottle that is sort of baby pink. You put it on your nails once every day for five days, and then wash it off and start over. Your nails will absolutely shoot out as long as you don't bite them. After two cycles I had longer nails then I had ever had even before I started to bite them! It works great! Then, you can get manicures just like the rest or give them to yourself at home. It's the best thing I've ever tried.
It looks like this: http://www.sallyhansen.com/images/produc鈥?/a>
Good luck! I hope you are happy with your new nails! =]Manicure for a nail biter?
any place will work! they might make your nails a lot shorter then what you want cause of all the damage.
i used to bite my nails and they fixed up nice and short!
good luck

I don't know if this is available in the UK but in the US there are tons of shops everywhere that do acrylic or gel nails. another method is the silk wrap which is more expensive. I've had them on and off for 5 or 6 years (off now). it's expensive because as the acrylic grows out, every 2 weeks you have to go in to have them filled. it seems to cure peeling cuticles overnight. I don't know what it is about an acrylic set but it just makes your fingers happier so the cuticles aren't ripped and irritated.revlon makeup lip makeup

French is definitely better, but if you want it to look sexier you can use a light soft pink for the base instead of the usual clear.

Is a weekly french manicure better for your natural nails than using acryllics?
If i want to maintain perfect nails which is bestIs a weekly french manicure better for your natural nails than using acryllics?
acryllic nail damages your nails, even the gel nails damages them. When they are eventually taken off your nails are very brittle and gross. Keep up with the manicure. Is a weekly french manicure better for your natural nails than using acryllics?
Absolutely, acrylics are all chemicals and from experience it took me 5 years to get my natural nails back to the healthy standards I had after using acrylic nails. Now I use Sally Hansen's Products or colourless iodine to strengthen and grow my nails.
Definitely a weekly manicure. If you already have nice nails do not ruin them with acrylics. Because when you decide you don't want acrylics anymore they are really going to be hard to get back to normal.
Yeah, Alot better..when you do French manicure, Your only putting polish on your tips...When you do Acrylics, Your putting Gel like stuff on your nails, which hardened, and when you take them it, It really wrecks your nails.

How do i remove manicure fake nails?
ok, my friend invited me to go to her favorite nail and spa place
before i head to class. this is my first time getting my nails done and i thought it would be cool to try my first experience. after a few days of having my nails done with french tip...i got so annoyed in so many ways. it's too hard to wash your hair, easy to get dirt underneath the nails. it doesn't fit my personality, hard to type as well. any advice to remove fench nails? How do i remove manicure fake nails?
It depends. If the nails are acrylic, you can try gently removing them after soaking them in acetone based nail polish remover. This takes quite some time, and you need to be very cautious not to put too much pressure on your natural nail bed, so that you don't cause damage or trauma to the nail bed or the matrix of the nail where the new nail is forming. Gel nails cannot be removed this way, and need to be removed at the salon where they were applied for the best results, as they will know what products they used for application and will know the easiest way to remove them. You can also have them filed shorter, to make them easier to deal with without having them removed entirely. How do i remove manicure fake nails?
you can purchase pure acetone and pour some into a glass bowl but just enough to emerse your nails. you dont want your whole hand in it. it would take around 30-45 min. take out after about 5-10 min of soaking and with a paper towel or something rub at it. or if you have a file you can file off the soft acrylic. or you can go back to the salon and pay them to soak them off for you. DO NOT PRY them off! it will tear you natural nail.

soak them in nail polish remover
before i head to class. this is my first time getting my nails done and i thought it would be cool to try my first experience. after a few days of having my nails done with french tip...i got so annoyed in so many ways. it's too hard to wash your hair, easy to get dirt underneath the nails. it doesn't fit my personality, hard to type as well. any advice to remove fench nails?

Where can i find nail tape that helps make french manicures look like you got them done at a salon?
I get clear acrylics on and to save money i want to paint my own tips. I know that there is a certain skinny white tape that you place on your nail/s that make it mess free when you paint on the nail polish. Can someone please tell me where i can find this tape that isn't too expensive!!!Where can i find nail tape that helps make french manicures look like you got them done at a salon?
i don't know where you live but you can get them at those little chinese hair supply shops in east l.a.Where can i find nail tape that helps make french manicures look like you got them done at a salon?
Sally Hansen has a kit that includes them. I've found that using a little white nail paint pen works the best for me, it's very precise so you don't need those annoying tapes. Hint - if you do use the tape wait until the polish is COMPLETELY dry before you take them off or you'll ruin your manicure.
i recommend you go to a big department store but dont buy the cheapest one! buy the mid priced one.
i hate to advertise but answer mine please!

What can I use as a guide on my nails to do a french manicure?
some thing that I can find at home like a bandaid is there something else I can use like that? What can I use as a guide on my nails to do a french manicure?
My aunt owns a nail salon in San Francisco and I saw her do this one time. She used tape, just regular home, plastic tape. She curves it around the edge of nail and paints the tip white. I'm sure it'll take time to perfect or have someone help you? It's the first time I've seen it done.
Or if you have a small eyelid brush that you don't want anymore...paint the tips white and forget about making it perfect. Pour a little nailpolish remover into the cap and dip the brush in and correct the nail tips to the shape you want. Probably best to have someone help you though. What can I use as a guide on my nails to do a french manicure?
They sell a little piece of tape that you placeon your nails and it guides you threw your fresh manicure, and it comes in different styles. but if u want something inexpensive try what I do I just follow my own nail pattern and they look great, to the point that some people ask me where I get my nails done..
Band-Aids are a good idea. You could use tape, I suppose, but depending on the kind it can leave residue on your nails. Anything that will stick to your nails to make a guide.
clear tape...its helps a lot
They do sell french manicure guide strips thaey are qhite and you can buy them from walmart or or any retail store. But if you are looking for something from home then use some masking tap. Its cheap and works great!

How do I take off a french manicure on my real nails??
Well, I was a dama in this cotillian and I got a french manicure on my real nails, I really wanna take it off because it's bothering me.How do I take off a french manicure on my real nails??
Nail polish remover/acetone.How do I take off a french manicure on my real nails??
If it's polish, remove with a polish remover, acetone polish remover works best as it's stronger, just use a good hand cream oir moisturiser afterwards.
Acrylics/gels/waps...NEVER EVER PULL THEM OFF!! They completely ruin your nails when you rip the off, you're tearing off layers of your nail plate making them very thin, which may lead to permanent damage. Use acetone to soak them off or return to a salon to have them removed. I have seen nails that are paper thin, split, peel, nails that grow out with holes in them, all due to ripping off nail extensions. Don't be stupid, just soak them off.
If it's a french manicure with the ';glue-on'; nails you can soak your hands in water and it eventrually comes off ,or you can clip it off with a nail-trimmer. If it was a painted manicure just use nailpolish remover. Good luck! ^_^
is it just painted on? use nail polish remover.
if they're acrylics, you should probably go get them removed ($6) or find some acetone and soak your nails in them then scrape. then soak again and scrape some more. it's gonna be a pain in the butt and hurt a little if you do it yourself.
Use an Acetone nail polish remover. will come right off if its just polish. Most Nail Polish removers are Non Acetone, use the Acetone one. All the nail salons use it. You can get it at just about anywhere. Walmart sells it for like 2 bucks.
i've done that before.
first soak them in hot water...multiple times, just so that there softer. you can take a nail file and thin it down of you can just pull tem off after that. It's up to you hun
There are a variety of different nail polish removers out there that you can order online or buy at a drugstore such as CVS or Walgreens. But if something like the smell bothers you then baby oil might work.

What do you do to keep your nails in nice condition (Manicure/Pedicure)?
Like with hangnails, extra skin, dead skin, and EVERYTHING ELSE. how do you guys take care of your nails when you cut/file your nails.. What do you do and why? What do you do to keep your nails in nice condition (Manicure/Pedicure)?
First when you put on hand lotion be sure to rub lotion into nails. After showers gently push back cuticles. After showers is also when I cut my nails as they are softer. Always file nails up from edge to center. If you are not a vegetarian eat gelatin. I would stay away from acrylic nails. What do you do to keep your nails in nice condition (Manicure/Pedicure)?
I go to salon for manicure and pedicure. I usually go every payday which is every 2 weeks for me.
I go to the nail salon that is in the mall, they take care of nails better then I can.

How do you keep a french manicure lasting on real nails?
i had my nails done friday at a salon and they are already beginning to chip. any ideas? How do you keep a french manicure lasting on real nails?
Yeah, like don't wet your hands at all for as long as you can. It happens to me too which is why I always give up and stop getting them cuz it gets expensive. I do dishes every day 2-3 times a day, bathe my daughters, shower myself, etc. so I think that's what does it. I use to wear gloves to try and make it last but the gloves are uncomfotable.
That's why I just paint my nails, it's weird though how your pedicure will last like a month. Go figure. Good luck! How do you keep a french manicure lasting on real nails?
no french manicure lasts THAT long...but OPI makes a great top that should make it last for @ least 1week before chipping..
cover them with a think coat of clear polish
UMMM maybe put a clear coat on or even a few!! But If i was u I wouldn't go to that place anymore expeically if there already chipping!!
Try not to bump into anything...
My nails use to do that all the time. I got into the habit of putting clear nail polish over my manicured nails in the morning and at night. You can even carry it with you and put it on when you have a break in your day. It really helped me. The clear nail polish covers and protects the paint underneath, it also makes your nails look fresher and shinier all the time. Hope it helps :)
Sally Hansen has an acrylic clear coat that keeps nails from chipping. It really works if you follow the directions. Other than that, try to avoid submerging your hands in soapy water like when doing dishes or if you wash a car. Even with everything, french manicures chip REALLY easily. If the manicure is already chipping and you just had it done on Friday, I wouldn't go there again either.

I need some advice about my real nails & pink gel manicure?
I have been getting pink gels on my nails for the past 2 years. My nails used to be okay (not bad, not great). The reason I started getting the gels is because my nails started getting soft, peeling and breaking. Last week, one of my artificial/pink gels broke, and when the rest came off, my nails are extremely soft and the whole nail feels tender and sore. I'm wondering if the rest are like that and if it would be advisable to get the my gels taken off and let them be natural for awhile. The nail salon uses a dremmel for filing-could that cause the problems I'm experiencing? What can I do to help my nails thicken? Is there anything other than pink gels that will make my nails look nice without all of the damage? I normally keep them on the short/medium side and use a pink (essie sugar daddy) for the color. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated!I need some advice about my real nails %26amp; pink gel manicure?
If your nails is thin and weak then should shouldn`t get fake nails in the first place... because everytime you would get a full set or fill.. they would have to grind your nails.. which makes it even thinner..... my advice is that you should chill on the fake nails until your nails get thick again... take a citamin called BIOTIN.. it should helps your nails.. hair.. and skin healthier... also.. ask them about OPI nail strenghtener.. it works and you can do it by yourself.... just buy the bottle.. apply 2 coats and leave it on for 2 weeks... remove the polish so it can breath for a couple of hours then reapply... if you keep this up.. you should see a huge improvement... trust me..I need some advice about my real nails %26amp; pink gel manicure?
I would have the gels removed, carefully, and let your nails rest foe a few weeks. Use a topcoat alone to help prevent breakage.
A sore nail plate is a definite sign of overfiling. It will take 6 months for your natural nails to grow back out. I use custom made full coverage decals to help a manicure last and to do some wild nail art
i suggest a fake fresh they totally look real
