Manicure for a nail biter?

Hi all,

Since I can remember, I have always bitten my nails. Through sheer will power I have recently been able to stop the biting and begun to grow them (still a long way to go til they look nice).

Even though I'ves topped biting the nails, my habit of picking and the skin around the nails,a nd the cuticales is proving harder to stop. As such i still have a lot of broken skill and uneven edges around each nail.

I think i should get a manicure, f not fake nails to help me have nice nails.

Anyone know of anywhere in London which specialises in wokring on biten nails, or can give me some good advice on what is the best option.

Thanks in advance.

(PS: do not suggest Nails Inc. Heard too manybad reviews of them on the net, and from friends and colleagues.)Manicure for a nail biter?
Oh, I know EXACTLY how you feel...before I got braces I bit my nails all the time, and then it didn't work so I quit the habit but I have just the remedy for you!

You need some Sally Hansen maximum Growth polish. It's this clear nail polish that comes in a bottle that is sort of baby pink. You put it on your nails once every day for five days, and then wash it off and start over. Your nails will absolutely shoot out as long as you don't bite them. After two cycles I had longer nails then I had ever had even before I started to bite them! It works great! Then, you can get manicures just like the rest or give them to yourself at home. It's the best thing I've ever tried.

Good luck! I hope you are happy with your new nails! =]Manicure for a nail biter?
any place will work! they might make your nails a lot shorter then what you want cause of all the damage.

i used to bite my nails and they fixed up nice and short!

good luck

I don't know if this is available in the UK but in the US there are tons of shops everywhere that do acrylic or gel nails. another method is the silk wrap which is more expensive. I've had them on and off for 5 or 6 years (off now). it's expensive because as the acrylic grows out, every 2 weeks you have to go in to have them filled. it seems to cure peeling cuticles overnight. I don't know what it is about an acrylic set but it just makes your fingers happier so the cuticles aren't ripped and irritated.
