If you want to do longer (1/4 inch or longer) you should do a french mani to avoid that tacky claw look. If you want color, keep your nails short and rounded or square and no more than 1/8 inch above fingertip. Really deep purples/plums are hot right now and look really sophisticated.
So, the answer is both are cute, but it depends on the length.French (or American) manicure or painted nails?
Depends a lot on what outfit they are going to be worn with.French (or American) manicure or painted nails?
Go for the french, it is so classy, it makes your hands look so beautiful, an you feel so more feminine....you will get admireing looks from men and women....its a clean, classy look.......but I warn you, if you are a woman that has tattoo's, not even a french manicure will make you look classy,,,,
French maincure with white tips and pink acrylic or pink gel.
I think that french manicures are a bit tacky, especially when the white tips begin to chip and the person doesn't bother to have it re-done (a few fashion designers have said this in the past as well). I prefer to have a single color on my nails, like a beige, light pink, or bright red----its more my style, as I prefer the classy look.
I think its absolutely hideous when people get a french pedicure----this is the worst reminder of how grossly long toe nails can get. Once again, just not my style.
Yea i have a french right now. but i love nails painted in dark colors.
French look more natural and professional in a way.
American manicure lol. I like the more natural look plus it goes with everything if you do a color sometimes it tends to clash with what you are wearing
I'm 52 and I still keep my nails painted in bright colors.
i get french if i am feeling classy and designed if i want to get in touch with my fun side
french maicures are soooooooooo cute!!!!!
If your feeling fun...get the french but not the traditional white tip. Try the glitter tip! They come in lots of fun colors and their extra cute! They also go well in the work place if you get a skin tone or neutral colors. Im wearing a champaign color with glitter...and everyone loves it!!

Would white waterproof permanent marker work under my nails to create a ';french manicure'; look? anyone tried?
No, a french manicure is not done under the nail. It is always on top. I suggest either going to a salon or buying some good quality products and doing them yourself.Would white waterproof permanent marker work under my nails to create a ';french manicure'; look? anyone tried?

If i get a manicure, do i have to get fake nails?
i don't want fake nails, but i want nice nails...help?
thanks!!!
if u can give me an average price for the procedure in addition, that would be stellar.
xao=DIf i get a manicure, do i have to get fake nails?
No you don't have to get fake nails. However, the paint won't last as long. Most places cost under $15.If i get a manicure, do i have to get fake nails?
You don't have to get fake nails, when you get a manicure. Guys get manicures all the time, and i doubt they want fake nails :). A standard manicure should only cost you 10-25 dollars + tip.
You don't need to get fake nails - just a manicure every couple of weeks would be fine. You could also have an overlay - just the acrylic put over your natural nail - no fake nails; they'll shape your own nail.
Depending on where you go - the average for a full set of acrylics is $25-$30 - with refills anywhere between $12 and $15.
You don't have to get fake nails, you can just get them trimmed and even and painted clear or with color. Usually around $15. This is what I do as my nails are usually long and even on their own.
u dont have to get fake nails. and where i live manicures go from like $12-20 ishh

What is a manicure? What do they do to your nails?
Of course painting them is one thing they do. A professional manicure expertly shapes your nails and pushes the cuticle which provides a neat appearance to the nail bed. Depending on where you live, nail salons are normally very competitively priced between 10 - 15 dollars. If the manicure is done properly it does not hurt. Some places have nail technicians that are over zealous about treating the nail cuticle. You should definitely get a manicure once in your lifetime! Not only is it a treat you will be amazed at how different your nails can look. What is a manicure? What do they do to your nails?
A manicure is when proffesional people paint ur nailsWhat is a manicure? What do they do to your nails?
They just paint them.
Fake nails are Acrylics or a Full Set.
by definition from merriam webster dictionary manicure just means a treatment for the care of hands and fingernails. It may or may not involve the application of fake nails.
i have nice natural nails and a manicure for me involves, having my nails trimmed, shaped and polished. some places also do a nice massage of the wrists and forearms.
this is usually the cheapest form of manicure, since you are having them done to your own nails.
for add'l costs you can have fake nails of any variety applied and the painted and shaped.
a manicure is when professionals paint your nails. I paint my own, because it hurts and its expensive!!!
A manicure is when you go to get your nails done. They file them, cut them to the length that you want, paint them, buff them, and all that jazz. You can even get french tips on your real nails. When they put on fake nails for you, they're called acrylics, or you can get solar nails which are supposed to look better or shinier.

black tips on white nails?
silver tips on pink? ...etc.
I need some ideas and it would be great, I pretty much have every color except neon colors.. thanks! :) (unless you have any other cool nail ideas )Help with French Manicure/ Nails? (Color Ideas)?
you can almost pair any colors pertaining to the french look. make sure that you use a guide so that the lines would be neat and uniformed. try doing red tip with sliver strip directly below the red, or use sparkling tip with same stripe and add some type of decorations.Help with French Manicure/ Nails? How do i take off my fake manicure nails?
i got them done at the shop between june 11th ish and i want them off before school starts, which is less than 3 weeks. thing is, before i got them my friends told me they'll just fall in in about 3 weeks but its been almost a month and i still have the nails on. i dont really want my real nails to be ruined, so should i just wait or remove them now? if u think i should remove them, please tell me how? kk thnxx!(:
oh and if u think i should wait, when do u think they may fall off?How do i take off my fake manicure nails?
Just run them under hot water for a couple of minutes that works for me!How do i take off my fake manicure nails?
Depending on the extent it took to put them on-
First try some warm water and press the warm water down on your nails not enough to press them on more, but more around the cuticles-
Then try some nail polish remover under the nail and around the cuticles to remove some of the glue, then rinse with warm water again.
Take a tooth pick or a wooden nail stick and try to pry from the back of the nail up and keep repeating the steps of warm water and especially nailpolish remover.
Eventually they should call off with the glue thinning and you pushing them out of there natural place.
Hope this helps babe :)
i know they can be a pain.
I'm assuming they are acrylics if you got them done at some shop a and they haven't fallen off in a month. I would go back to the shop to have them removed. No matter what, you real nail is going to be damaged. That's what happens with fake nails. They ruin your real nails. If you take them off your self (which you can do buy buying pure acetone nail polish remover and soaking them until they fall off. This takes a while.) you nails we peel and it will be painful. If you go into the salon, they will remove them professionally and it wont hurt or look as bad. But your nails aren't going to look like they did before, they won't be smooth. Depending on how fast your nails grow, it might take four or five months for them to go back to normal.
It's best to take them off now before they start peeling off and damaging your nail. Buy some nail polish remover with acetone. Pour some into a glass bowl and soak your nails. It will dissolve the nails and the glue. After a few minutes the nails will get loose and you can gently pry them off with an orangewood stick or thin nail file. You may need to lightly buff them to help get the last bits off your nail. Next rinse your hands off well with a moisturizing soap and them give them a good coating of lotion as acetone may dry out your nails and finger tips.
You can either:
-soak your nails in pure acetone. they will get gooie and a little messy. I used that method the first time I took my nails off.
OR
-go back to the place that put them on and they'll take them off for you. Usually they don't use acetone but some places may be different. Where I go it kind of hurts getting them off, but the acetone is such a pain in the butt! Another reason why going to the place is good is that when they're done they can clean up your nails for you and paint them or something.
You've only had them for a month, so there is no guarantee if your real nails will be weak or not. Mine usually are, but I just put this clear polish ';hard as nails'; on them.
Good luck! hope this helped!
Depends on the thickness. Depends on the method they used.
I had very thick ones once and they just wouldn't fall for a very very long time. Went to the nail place and paid $15 to have them removed and to get new ones.
they basically put my hands in some kind of acetone for 10min and then started to cut at them and to try to ';unglue'; them. They inserted fake nails between my natural nails and the fake ones to separate them and kept pushing. It was extremely painful and I could have done the same thing myself. My advice is just let them fall off on their own. 3 weeks should do it for you. :)
If you leave them on they will fall off but not in 3 weeks you will still have some of them when you go back to school.
If you didn't want them to ruin your nails you should have never got them put on. I know this from personal experience. If you really don't want them on any more you can soak your nails in nail polish remover. Make sure it has ACETONE in it or it wont work.
i think if you really want to take them off before school starts then you should go for it1:)
and if you dont wanna ruin your nails then you could just get a bowl of hot water and put your nails in there one hand at a time and then the glue starts to soften up and then you can easily take them off yeaa so i hope i let you know wat you needed to know .! good luck!:)
Use pure acetone, which you can get at Sally's. Soak your nails in it and it will dissolve the acrylic. Don't pull or pry them off, that WILL ruin your nails. Chances are you will have some damage because the acrylic blocks the nail from getting oxygen.
you can get fake nail remover from a walmart or target, well pretty much anywhere. its only a couple bucks. and you just soak your nails in there and they will fall off in like 20 minutes or so.
you can go back to the salon and pay 10 dollar or so to have them removed. or you can go but acitone and soak them in it.
go to the local drug store or even walmart anywhere the sell nail care products they should have a product by the nail polish remover that states artificail nail remover it should be in a small palstic jar.
try soaking your fingers in a small bowl of nail polish remover. you can soak until the nails fall off or soak for 10 minutes and try to peel them off yourself
they fall off on there own, but if u want to do it yourself anyway, then dip your nails in a bowl of nail polish remover, and they fall off
get some really really HOT water and put your fingers in it and they should like start to come up then pull them off but not tooo hard
if they are the fake kind but u got them done professionally soak one finger at a time in nail polish remover and they should come off.
hope i helped!!!
acitone or cut them off with a nail clipper but be careful. Cut the side and the rest will maybe break. Worked for me.
take them off. juss bitee them off. and use a metrocard to get the pieces of nail left on your actual nail.lol.
Soak them in acetone, found next to the nail polish at the store.
Are they acrylic? Gel? It depends on what kind they are...
nail polish removal works great
scissors
stick yoru hands in nail polish remover. just dont ask how i know this.....
try youtube. they might show you how to take them off without ruining your nails
To get the fake nails off, you should get some acetone and put it in a bowl and then sink your fake nails there for at least 15 minutes. Then take a wooden stick and gently pull the nails with the stick. If it seems like they are still not coming off, you should put the nails back in the acetone. If you don´t have any acetone, you can try using hot water; it makes the glue go off.
Also if you do not have a wooden stick you can use a finger nail file to slowly remove the artificial nails. After removing all of the artificial nails, you can carefully try buffering the extra nail glue off your natural nails and after that put some lotion on your nails or some nail polish,
You should not in any case try ripping and tearing off the fake nails because it really can ruin your own natural nails. It can rip off layers off your own natural nail too when the fake nail is ripped off and it makes the natural nail very thin and rough textured and when the nail is thin enough, the part of the finger where the nail is, becomes very sore and this will last for some weeks until the damaged nail grows out
oh and if u think i should wait, when do u think they may fall off?How do i take off my fake manicure nails?

Can I get fake nails and french manicure while pregnant??
So...I kinda know what my guy is getting me for Christmas...hehe...he left something out about it, and I really think my nails need to be done when he gives it to me...especially since I know I will want to show people. I bite my nails...so I have none. I used to get my nails done, acrylic, all the time but have not since pregnant. Is it safe to go get them done??Can I get fake nails and french manicure while pregnant??
I've gotten my nails done all throughout my pregnancy (I have acrylic nails). People will say it's unsafe to inhale all those fumes (with the acrylics), but, then again what is totally safe? Is it unsafe to drive and breathe in exhaust fumes? It is unsafe to go outside and breathe the polluted air? You'll be fine %26amp; your baby will be fine as well. It's not like you are breathing all those acrylic fumes all day, every day. Get your nails done! Good Luck! Can I get fake nails and french manicure while pregnant??
i did it, my baby came out fine.
No
My nail artist wouldnt do my nails they have all broken off now! she said the acrylic gets in through the skin or something, whatever reason hair dye isnt good is the same. You might have to suggest something else to him sorry
Tell them at the salon before they start!
I just answered something like this---but the reason I read to stay out of salons is the strong chemical smell can make you sick. :)
Good luck and have a Merry Christmas!! You'll be so excited you won't care what your nails look like in the end!!
I am sure it is okay, I see alot of pregnant women getting them done, but as for me I always stayed away from those places only because of the fumes that the stuff they use give off. I was not sure if they were harmful or not.
I don't see why not, I used to always have pedicures when I was pregnant. Maybe bring something to cover your nose and mouth the smell in the nail salon can get overwhelming.
It is totally fine. The only thing doctors would recommend is you wearing a mask like the salon techs do. This will help you no breathe the dust and chemical so much.
Good luck.
uuhh, yeah. Why couldn't you??
yes just be careful around the fumes
OMG! I am pregnant too and I think my bf is getting the same thing your boyfriend is getting you for Christmas! Haha! How far along are you? I got my nails done in my 3rd trimester, but I actually just had them removed because I am gonna be having my baby in less than 3 weeks and I didn't think I'd have time for the upkeep. It's fine though. Pregnant woman need some pampering. Maybe ask them if you could wear a mask or somehting if you're worried. I didn't even think about having my nails looking pretty for the big day..UG! Good luck and congrats!
Yes - No problems
Yes, but be careful about being in a salon with a lot of fumes. The fumes are what is dangerous, especially if they are concentrated.
I can't imagine it's bad for you... but I'm sure you're aware of the kinds of infections you can get from nail salons being not hygenic. If they don't clean scissors or nail files, you can get bacteria under the nails. It doesn't happen everywhere and it's probably not something to worry too much about.
I would still get my nails done. but make sure the place you go to is sanitary. I hope you're right about your boyfriends present! :)
good luck!
I had mine done while I was pregnant. The smell at the nail shop bothered me a bit but I have never heard any reason you could not.
I would say so... but ask your obgyn
It's not safe! The chemicals and nail polishes are really bad for the baby... There is some kind of nail polish you can get that if you bit your nails, it tastes bad so you don't wanna bite them anymore.
Yes. Having acrylic nails done during pregnancy is something alot of women continue to have done.
The important question is whether or not you want to subject yourself to the dust, chemicals and smell.

You might think i'm stupid askin this question but please answer (nails)...wats a manicure and a pedicure?
Manicure - hands
Pedicure - feetYou might think i'm stupid askin this question but please answer (nails)...wats a manicure and a pedicure?
Hey there are no stupid question just stupid answers. I have been a manicurist and makeup artist for 15 years. I own my business. I'm pretty qualified to answers this for you. So a manicure is for the hands it usuall consists of soaking the nails shaping, cleaning up the cutilcle(the skin that grows at the end of the nail bed) buffing, sometimes a massage of the hands and arms. and the polish. Sounds good huh? The pedicure is the same but for feet. Also, they usually will scrape the dead skin off the feet and use a good scrub to remove the rest of it. I hope this helps. It's definitely a good idea to get manis and pedis it helps restore the health of the hands and feet! Good Lcuk!!!You might think i'm stupid askin this question but please answer (nails)...wats a manicure and a pedicure?
You go to a salon, and there are a bunch of ladies and a bunch of chairs that look like massage chairs with little baths under them. If you want to sit at the fancy chair it usually costs more, but its really nice. Basically what they do is clean and shape your nails, and then paint them the color you pick.
a manicure is when u get your nails painted .and a pedicure is when u get your toes did.
manicure is when someone does ur nails..pedicure is toes.

Self Manicures - Nail polish and base/top coats?
I like doing my own nails, but I can't seem to find good quality nail polishes and base/top coats that dry quickly. To date, I like using China Glaze nail polish because it dries VERY fast, and I like the variety of colors, but their top coat is way too thick and pulls my nailpolish (the color actually starts to come off my nails).
Can anyone recommend a good quality, fast drying nail polish, and more importantly a good quality, fast drying base/top coat?
Thanks for your help! :o)Self Manicures - Nail polish and base/top coats?
My favorite brand for colors is OPI. They have very rich, pretty colors, and is very high in quality (it DOES NOT chip off). However, like China Glaze, their base/top coat is a little thick. I use something called ';Out the Door'; made by a company called INM.
http://www.sallybeauty.com/INM-Fast-Top-鈥?/a>
As the name suggests, it dries very quickly, but also is protective. It really gives the nails a good shine, and doesn't affect the coat under it when applying. I really recommend that one.
I hope I helped!Self Manicures - Nail polish and base/top coats?
The problem is that your nails are too oily when you are applying your base coat. Before even applying the base, use some remover and wipe down all the nails, then use OPI Chip Skip primer, which is a watery, instant-dry formula. After that, use Orly Bonder Base Coat and then after polishing, a good top coat I use is Seche Vite or OPI.
OPI and Essie nail polish. They can be a little expensive,if you want something cheaper Ulta brand nail polish works very well too.
I use Sally Hansen Insta-Dri top coat, it dries the nail polish in about 15 seconds and it leaves a glossy finish that lasts about a week:)

What's the average price for a french manicure and pedicure(not fake nails)?
and if possible,
what's the price for them at Nail Trix.
:)What's the average price for a french manicure and pedicure(not fake nails)?
where I go, (not often!) pedi is 28, just painting your nails costs like 5 and manicure is 15. I would skip the mani and go right for 2 pedis. oh man they are incredible!!!
http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/ind鈥?/a>What's the average price for a french manicure and pedicure(not fake nails)?
At a regular nail place like in the mall it will probably be around $20 for each. At an upscale salon/spa it will probably be arounf $30-40 each. Sometimes doing french is $3-5 extra. I wouldn't pay over $60 for both personally.
between 15-25 sometimes 30 dollars. it depends on wear you go. and for french, they usually charge 5 dollar extra for whatever the manicure price is. hope i helped !
Under $20.

From aman's pt of view. Yep i mean Yes it does.Do you think manicured nails anda nice hair do really does make a difference?
My dad always said the three things you should always take care of are your hair, nails and shoes. He says that you can tell alot about someones character by looking at these things. Its true!

What is a China Silk Wrap in relation to manicures and nails?
I saw this at the salon today on a business card. I would've asked but it was hard to understand the tech. What is a China Silk Wrap in relation to manicures and nails?
Another popular alternative to acrylic or gel preparations are Fiberglass or Silk wraps. They are done by cutting pieces of actual fiberglass or silk fabric to fit on the surface of the nail or tip and then it is sealed down with a resin or glue. These are a possible alternative for those who are allergic to chemicals used in the acrylic or gel process.
I used to have them as they looked more natural than acrylics. I tried silk wraps but they weren't as durable as I wanted, so I ended up with fiberglass wraps and they were durable and looked totally natural.

In Michigan is it required to have a licence to do nails/manicures?
I am not sure but I am willing to bet you do because of sanitation reasons.
The state wants you to go to school to learn how NOT to spread infectious diseases through unclean instruments and practices to the public.

ACRYLIC NAILS- the french manicure ones that you can press or glue- are they any good ..?
that one can buy from a beauty sluppy store or local drugstore or do they come off.? i am thinking of buying them so i need somebody who has already used them.ACRYLIC NAILS- the french manicure ones that you can press or glue- are they any good ..?
They're definitely cheaper, about 拢5 for a box. You can wear them for about 10 days before they have to be taken off and after that you could if you want to re use them once or twice. After that the dried glue builds up too much and it's the bin for them. They look quite good but you may need to trim them a bit to fit your nails better and shorten them down a bit if they're too long for you or if you don't like the square tips. They can pop off so you'll want to have some glue with you. That happened twice with me. Once I had to quickly go to a drugstore to buy nail glue for one of my nails. Most of these nails come in french but I just polish over them, usually black.ACRYLIC NAILS- the french manicure ones that you can press or glue- are they any good ..?
I've used them twice. The first time they fell off, but I didnt trim them to fit MY nails. The last time I used them was a few months ago, and they are nice, but I did have a few of them fall off. I just kept the glue with me and glued it back on. They are cheaper than having them professionally done. I'd try them and see what you think.
I would rather go get the kind from the salon. The press ons don't last. The kind you get from the salon last longer. I know the salon ones are more expensive to keep up but it's worth it.
I have been using the Kiss brand of toenails from Walmart nail department they work wonderfully. Takes them a while to pop off. I know Kiss has fingernails as well and i believe they would be just as good as the toenails!
good luck!
Don't buy them from a store if you want a French manicure get them painted on or get them done at a salon I have on French tips that I had got done at a salon and they have been on for a few months.
I've used them. They can be pretty good, sometimes they would stay on for three days, i once got one to stay on for a week. It can depend how well they are glued on, or how much work you do with your hands. The glue can dry up and the nail break off easy, but i would carry the bottle around.

I think you should just cut all your nails short so they'll grow out evenly, only then can you get youself a nice french manicure. In the meantime while you're growing them out, try painting your nails in dark colors like purple, they're in this season. Can i do a manicure with my nails???french manicure..........?

HELP! Manicure (acrylic nails) question?
First of all, I was wondering how long they would take to do.
Second: how much a a standard manicure would be
Third: how much a standard manicure with coloured tips would be
Fourth: how long it would last
Fifth: How to take acrylic nails off!
Thnaks. i want them done for Christmas so they look nice, but yeah..too many questions!HELP! Manicure (acrylic nails) question?
yeah i asked the same question and i want the same thing done
1 about 1 hour
2 18-22 dollars
3 25 dollars
4 2-3 weeks
5 soak them or go back to the shop and have them soak them off for you ..whatever you dont i repeat DONT try to pull them off ..if could rip you nail off !!!HELP! Manicure (acrylic nails) question?
I don't like acrylics too much because they damage your nails at an insane amount, I'd rather get a regular manicure with nail polish, buttt here's what you need to know:
1st: The minimum amount of time is 30 mins.
2nd: It's around $35.
3rd: Colored tips cost a little bit more, so around $40.
4th: They last about a month or two,
5th: Soak them in nail polish remover for about 5 mins then carefully take them off.

I'm getting a manicure next week but my nails are really short and how can i get them to grow really fast??
what natural ingredient can i use to make them grow??I'm getting a manicure next week but my nails are really short and how can i get them to grow really fast??
Don't Worry!
I've had manicures before and you don't need long nails.
All she'll do is shape them and paint them.
You could get a french manicure.
Or you could get false nails put on.
i seen this on a website
mix 4 tabespoons of milk
3 tablespoons of orange juice
and 5 tablespoons of pure apple cider vinegarI'm getting a manicure next week but my nails are really short and how can i get them to grow really fast??
olive oil keeps them healthy and makes them grow faster : )
Just put some on and leave it on for like 15-20 min and do this a few times a day and they wiil be sure to grow...oh ans just wash it off w/ a little soapy water : )
Also cut them just a tiny bit before u put the olive oil on :)
well if you chew them...stop!
or you can get fake ones....
i have real nails that are long and i dont cut them all the way down...only a little bit...if you try to grow them you will be able too!

Wat do u think about me doin my nails, french manicure or wat?
yes, ask for acrylic nails with the french/white tips. if you just have them paint your nails, it will chip off and not last very long. acrylic/fake nails also do NOT ruin your nails as long as you take them off properly.
my nails have a hard time growing long, and when i get acrylic nails, i take them off slowly and patiently with Acitone, or go back and have them take them off.
either way, my nails usually grow very very long and pretty underneigth the fake nail, and they look soo nice when i take the fake nail off!Wat do u think about me doin my nails, french manicure or wat?

What do you think of french manicured nails?
guys or girls, what do you think of the french manicure that you get at the salon, the one where they apply plastic tips. I really like the look but i wasn't sure if anyone thought it was an immediate turn off or turn on, for that matterWhat do you think of french manicured nails?
Plastic tips are typically used at discount salons. These places are some of the worst places to get your nails done at. A much better method is to sculpt the nails on using nail forms. Much less tacky looking than plastic tips. They use them because they simply don't have the skill required to sculpt nails. The nails come out 'flat' looking and they use this awful milky looking acrylic on them. My advice is to find a high end salon and let them sculpt the nails for you. It costs more, but its so worth it.What do you think of french manicured nails?
French manicures are beautiful! I absolutely adore them! I wouldn't think guys would want women with short stubby nails, sorry for anyone out there with them ^^. I would definitely prefer french manicures than most of the other styles of nails that they have out there.
A attractive girl with long nails is a turn on no doubt.
I think long nails on a woman look very sexy and classy, French nails are good, but colored nails are even better :)
i dont know

SHOULD I GET A FRENCH MANICURE OR GET PINK WITH A FLOWER ON MY NAILS?
ok so im getting a manicure tomorrow and i dont know if i should get a french manicure or pink nails with a flower on the thumbs...do you think flowers are kind of childish...lol thanx
~erikaSHOULD I GET A FRENCH MANICURE OR GET PINK WITH A FLOWER ON MY NAILS?
I think french manicure is passe (old fashioned). Flowers are nice. Not childishSHOULD I GET A FRENCH MANICURE OR GET PINK WITH A FLOWER ON MY NAILS?
FRENCH NAILS ARE INCREDIBLY TACKY.
Like that that other chick said, editors like Glamour, Allure, Cosmopolitan and the other magazines think that the french manicure is SO TACKY. In which it is. I have a friend who is in the beauty department of Allure, and she says everyone thinks that the french nail IS TACKY. Especially those fake ones, so ugly. and now people are growling out their toenails to do the french nails? SO FRIGGIN UGLY.
And they're incredibly passe. The new fad is to paint your nails, keep them short, and to draw artistic designs on them, French nails are gonna be gone in the next year. And I have to say, French nails on your toes are U-G-L-Y-. They look like CLAWS.
I think french manicures are distasteful and ugly. I would get the flowers. Many magazine editors like cosmopolitan and allure think french manicures are ';tacky.'; In which I have no ides what means.
WHAT DOES TACKY MEAN? EASY 10 POINTS!
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;…
I love french manicures, they're very classy and chic. the flowers would be okay as long as they weren't too big, they'd have to be delicate looking.
You should totally get a french. Why? because french tips are the best, simple, and stylish.By the way even after you get ur nail's done you can always add more thing's to ur nail's.
Pink with flowers and no wayyy it will not look childish ,im in high school and girls get em all the time,,i think its better cuz its different!
flowers are sooo cute but the french manicure is definitelyyy more mature. and i think they look clean cut and pretty i would go with french.
A classic french manicure would be fine. I personally think a large chunk of nail art looks tacky, very seldom does it looks cute.
well, i personally don't think anyone will run up, grab your hand, and say ';oh my god flowers are so childish';. so you're good.
french manicure looks more classy, sophisticated, and expensive
french always looks good and matches everything i have it on my toes right now :)
french mani i got tht on my toes and feet (:
French mani simple yet elegant
i would i see my mom get it all the ime its really pretty!buy cream get ride of

Ladies, I pick and bite my nails...unless I get a manicure every two weeks. How to stop without spending $20?
try the peppery tasting stuff that you brush on your nailsLadies, I pick and bite my nails...unless I get a manicure every two weeks. How to stop without spending $20?

Hi, my name is Carrie, I am a licensed manicurist in Nevada. At nail school I learned that you can get worms from biting your nails. My sister bites her nails shorter than I have ever seen anyone bite their nails in my life. I told her that her hands look like my dad's hands, and she stopped for quite awhile. Her fingertips are always puffy and swollen from biting. You don't want to have your hands looking like a man's hands!!
do one nail at a time, like ur pinky. dont bite it for a whole day. then do ur pinky and ring finger..and so on. or paint a rly nice color on and force urself not to ruin it. oh and by the way, biting ur nails is dirtier than licking a toilet seat..i swear!
It depends on when you bite your nails, if you bite them in your sleep, sleep with gloves/mittens on. If you bite them during the day, you have to repetitively tell yourself(in your head), i will not bite my nails. what i did, was i sat on my hands, but then that became a habit, but it was a MUCH easier one to fix.
ummm..... don't buite your nail! I ussed to have bad nails bacuase I would bite then but now I have then prettiest nail in a school because I get a manicure evrey week.
out something really sick on ur nails like lemon juice then they'll taste bad

Manicure nails?
i need a youtube video that shows how to paint a flower on your nails using home stuff .. not those fancy brushesManicure nails?
I used to be a nail tech and nail salon owner %26amp; I have a cheap easy secret for you. Buy a cheap set of small paintbrushes from WalMart from their craft section and cut off the majority of the bristles leaving just a tiny bit left. My clients used to joke that I painted things using a brush with 3 hairs, and they werent far off. I also used plain old craft paints from WalMart and slightly watered them down so the paint would flow. They dry really quickly and you wont lose your design if you put a layer of clear top coat over it. My clients would oooh and ahhhh at what really were just little painted dots and dashes connected into flower shapes.Manicure nails?
I don't know a video i tryed to look them up but there all so weird hah anyways umm I tryed doing this before I just used like toothpicks and qtips with the cotten pulled off ..if you just want to make a flower I'm sure those would work because all u need is circles not like weird lines that you would need those fancy brushes for

French manicure or red finger nails?
I'm getting married tomorrow so which pedicure %26amp; manicure should i put on my nails? french manicure or red?French manicure or red finger nails?
Absolutely French, its clean and classy and will look great with anything you are wearing right from your wedding to your honeymoon. Save the red for Holiday parties. CONGRATULATIONS! MANY BLESSINGS.French manicure or red finger nails?
French manicure please.. Red fingers nails are for jezabels
Whatever you want, it's your day.
A french manicure will look nicer in pictures.
Best wishes in your new life together.
French manicure for sure. Red is meant to look wild and sexy -- not a good look for a wedding. A french manicure will make you look classy and elegant!
i guess it would really depend on the theme of your wedding.
if you're having a classier wedding, then definitely french.
if you're having a trendier wedding, i would go with maybe a dark maroon or something that is really in style... dark navy blue is really trendy right now too! just make sure it goes with the theme of your wedding.
depends how long your nails are. if they're short you can paint them red, really bright or really dark color look best of short nails. if you have long nails get a french manicure, that will look the best as well! good luck with whatever you choose, either way will look pretty though!
French would look much more elegant. The red will be too much contrast between the white (or ivory) of your dress and will stick out ';like a sore thumb'; . Sorry no pun intended. Couldn't resist though. Seriously I do think the French will look so much more elegant on you than the red. Red is nice for going out on the town but not so much for getting married.
french manicure, red is for going out and stuff innit
French Manicure..hope the day goes well =D
FRENCH!
french!
good luck! :)
both are super cute!
French!!! much more elegant
A frenc manicure is more formal, so I would go with that.

Gel nails or French manicure?
im going to an 18th birthday party and i want to get my nails done. I have never had my nails done professionally before. which do u think i should get done?Gel nails or French manicure?
I just asked my 16yo daughter who at the current time has gel nails on why she likes gels over french and she said that they look more real and feel better. Gel nails or French manicure?
Definately a french manicure. It is very classy and inexpensive to maintain.
french manicures looks so much better and they will stay on longer also.
Frenchie :]
French manicure ... cute , short and round

Would a french manicure look good on short nails?
I have EXTREMELY short nails, htey don't even cover the skin. If the french mani wouldn't look right what colors would be good.Would a french manicure look good on short nails?
You probably need to wait until they grow out some. It's spring time so maybe you should go with bright colors. Reds, pinks, or orange.Would a french manicure look good on short nails?
i dont suggest doing that. getting your nails dont at a nail place isnt the best idea since you could get infection.
i mean any color you want would be fine. if you are light skinned, black would be awsome, any darker color. if you a dark skinned, anything but loud colors like bright yellow. i mean you can paint them any color, but try to let them grow. dont bite them, if you can, and dont cut them too low
also use nail hardening polish.
well i think it might be betetr if you had your nails at least to your skin, so maybe try growing them out a little by putting a color of nail paint on them, because then you'll forget about biting them or peeling them, or whatever you do to them. lol. but i think it would still look cute!
French manicure? The one with the white tips?
I think your nails are too short to have that. Try all black nails, like what Rihanna has. I think that's cool.
Check my source for celebs with really great looking dark nails.
grow your nails a bit more and then get a french manicure.
i like the red that you have now :). i think white would be nice too.
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
French manicure ALWAYS looks better than normal nails (especially chewed ones) - why don't you have silk or gel extensions for a while until your own nails grow - I like plain white tips as they look great with a tan.
Actually, French Manicure is meant 4 long nails. They complement the grown part of the nails. That's why it won't look good in short one. You should try %26amp; stop chewing your nails which will help them grow better and faster.
Not right now, Just continue to keep them manicured and fresh and clean with a clear nail or one with a hint of pink to give that healthy nail look...
Try to work on the nerves, no more nail bitting, please
reviveu2
I think it'd be cute, personally :] Little french manicures look better than ones on long fingernails.
Do a white with a clear color, those look best :]
Most french manicures are done with the adding of nail extentions so yes you can get it done. I have seen it on short nails and it looks ok but better when longer.
I don't think that would look very good---try growing your nails out at first and then you can paint them however you want.
you need a bit of a nail for French manicured nails. What aout getting acrylic or gel nails til your own grow out. You can't bite them either!
If you can afford it I highly recommend them!
no i dont think it would sute french manicure, maybe 1 plain colour without a desighn will look good on short nails.
maybe ligh pink or black
No it will not because the manucurist won't have anything to paint white for the French manicure ';look';. Sorry.
no, Id wait for them to grow atleast to the tip of your finger.
get fake nails
no i don't think so i would grows some nails girll or get fake onesss mannnnn

Actually, French Manicure is meant 4 long nails. They complement the grown part of the nails. That's why it won't look good in short one. You should try %26amp; stop chewing your nails which will help them grow better and faster.
Not right now, Just continue to keep them manicured and fresh and clean with a clear nail or one with a hint of pink to give that healthy nail look...
Try to work on the nerves, no more nail bitting, please

I love the look of a french manicure and long nails, but I don't care for acrylics because they feel so heavy.
Other than growing out my nails and painting them all the time, is there any other options for something thats there to stay for awhile.?I love the look of a french manicure and long nails, but I don't care for acrylics because they feel so heavy.
yes.. its called a silk wrap. what they do at the salon is apply a white tip (for a french look) and then add one layer of brush on glue, after the glue they apply a piece of silk wrap that covers your entire nail and then they apply another layer of glue and then they dry the glue. when the glue is dry they will add about two more coats of glue. it looks great, its not chunky like acrylics, you never have to polish because it looks like a french manicure, it lasts a long time, and it doesn't damage your natural nail.
i HIGHLY recommend getting silk wraps over acrylics. they cost about $50 at some places but its well worth it.I love the look of a french manicure and long nails, but I don't care for acrylics because they feel so heavy.
Sure, you can buy the glue on ones, but they only last a week
sally hansen sells do-it-yourself french manicure kits. ive used them before they work pretty good, just make sure you use a good quality clear coat to seal it.
Growing them would be best cause acrylics causes fungus and messes up your natual nails
nope acrylic is the way to go, and I have had them for years without any problems
you should probably ask for a very light shade of acrylic and they will make it look like your nails
no not really...personally i dont think long natural nails look good even if they are done professionally! sorry :l just try the fake nail tips they look alot better
look for a Tammy Taylor salon---not just one that uses Tammy Taylor products, but one that does the Tammy Taylor process on the nails---they don't drill and can do an overlay on your natural nails (which ends up being thin and very natural looking). they use a white acrylic for the tips, then a pink acrylic for the nail bed--you don't even have to use a clear polish, just buff them for a natural french manicure look:)
nope not that i know of...sorry..lol
Press on nails.
not rily...if u find a way let me no!!!! lol....buy cream get ride of

Simple French manicure or Flowery Design Colorful nails?
I'm going to get my nails done, and I was wondering if just a plain white tipped French is better or a color nail [maybe like purple tips with flowers%26amp; or something i dunno] is better.
Hmm, which one do YOU like?
thanks(:Simple French manicure or Flowery Design Colorful nails?
Flowery designs are kinda for kids. I mean they are really cool but i definitely think that french is simple but always pretty.Simple French manicure or Flowery Design Colorful nails?
it depends on your style as in who you feel you are as a person and how you dress in general. Me i go for the white tips every time as that suits how i dress and matches my wardrobe ie i don't have to think about what will match my nail colour etc i have enough to do with te rest of me hair eye make up and lipstick ........... best wishes maureen
simple french is more wintery. i wouldn't do designs because they over power your hands and look trashy. a simple vibrant color would look beautiful for summer months. and basically you want them short if they are fake. other wise again- trashy. have them short and a vibrant simple color.
gorgeous.
I think it depends on how old you are. I think that if you are older than 16 you should have french manicure, and no flowers. Flowers are kind of childish if you ask me. and different color tips are cool :)
Get a white French tip with a white flower on either every finger nail or just the two thumbs. White is really the only color that works for the tips.
the purple one is defiantly better but it depends what are you going to do while your nails are painted if its nothing special then go with purple if its something formal then go with white
i think if anything you should get a french manicure with just white tips, but over the french tips, you should get some sort of floral pattern or design
French manicure. It's Summery!
Go with the simple French. Always classic and pretty.
go floral and get the bright flowers they will look great :D
